A Unique Stay in Blue Ridge, GA
If you’ve been following Leave Some Character for a while now, this AirBNB may look familiar. This Blue Ridge, GA bungalow was for sale and featured on this site last December. At the time of the listing, there was no history provided on Zillow, but it looked adorable so I posted it anyway.
Recently, the new owner of the property, Mike, was told it was featured on Leave Some Character and reached out to tell me a bit about the home. It was built in 1950 as the Trailways Bus Station. At some point, it was converted into Davenport’s Electric Motor Service and then a hair salon.
Mike bought the place fully furnished and he is in the process of collecting old photos of the building and the town and plans to turn the long hallway into a historical archive.
The home is just a couple minute walk to downtown Blue Ridge and a great place to rest your head after exploring Northern Georgia on a weekend getaway. Below are some recommendations from the owner and myself.

The Blue Ridge Scenic Railway is just a block from the bungalow and one of the most popular requests among guests.
For watersports head to nearby Lake Blue Ridge.
For the tallest waterfall in Georgia, hit up Amicalola Falls. Or, for the highest point in Georgia, head to Brasstown Bald (image via Pinterest). Both activities are within an hour of Blue Ridge, GA.
And finally, for great views, fruits and activities for the kids you can visit Mercier Orchards which is just a 7 minute car ride away. In April they offer blossom tours, May is strawberry season, June for blueberries, July for blackberries and August-October for apples. Their Instagram feed kind of had me drooling.
The AirBnB can accommodate 4 people, has 2 bedrooms/1 bathroom and wifi speeds at 113 Mbps (I work from home so this is always a plus in my book when looking for places to stay). Mike currently has a 5 star rating and is a Superhost.
