Designed by noted architect RA Lawson, this Oamaru Stone masterpiece commenced construction in 1866. English Gothic design which includes trefoil lancet windows alternated with fixed buttresses along the nave, molded stone corbels and stunning oak stained diagonally lined ceilings. The original Church was added to in 1876 with an addition designed by Mason and Wales. At this stage the tower and spire were added. Further additions by Lemon (of Forrester and Lemon) were made from 1898.
