The brick you see in the 1901 Victorian Craftsman was behind a closet and layers of drywall. The gilded cherub column panels, flanking the now exposed brick, were salvaged in Atlanta, they were at the entrance of a Macy's from 1930-1950's.

The kitchen itself isn’t necessarily anything spectacular, but when you take into account the entire home is built around the stairs leading up an original church bell tower the minimal kitchen becomes a perfect piece of the puzzle.
8. Brooklyn, NY

The kitchen has soapstone countertops and an island clad in brass. The Nana-wall door to the garden folds away creating an indoor-outdoor flow, perfect for entertaining. A 139-year old pear tree (still bearing fruit!) is center stage in this stately garden.
